In this album you will find images of my studio at WASPS in Glasgow, UK and also images of the artists I share with and of their work.
The Glasgow Ceramics Studio rents a large section of floorspace from WASPS (Workshop and Artists' Studio Provision Scotland). We're located on the ground floor of a converted and refurbished cigar factory in Glasgow's East End.
All our work spaces and facilities have been constructed, purchased and maintained by the studio holders themselves, over many years. We have also on occasion very gratefully accepted donations of tools, materials and equipment. We do not have a technician or a paid administrator. Although the studio is listed as a business, it is more accurately an artists' cooperative.
Most of the images in this album were taken in late September 2007, some time ago now. Since then, we've had some artists leave and others join us. Much has changed, but a lot has also remained the same. I'll provide some new images soon.
We're currently working on a website for the studio, which should be up and running soon and will give you up to date information on our regular events, ceramics classes and firing facilities.
