Making test rings, safety in ceramics and glaze testing
These images were taken during weeks 11 and 12, when I started testing glazes. They will take you through the process I use to make test rings - test pieces I use for glaze samples - my safety equipment - and the glaze mixing process.
I think the most important thing for me, when glaze testing, is to have a quiet space and a couple of hours of uninterrupted time.
I need to concentrate fully on what I'm doing. I keep thorough notes as I'm working marking down on the recipe which ingredients have been added as I add them. I also check before starting, that all equipment and ingredients are available.
